Registerfly transfer workaround

I don't have any Registerfly domains, but this article was quite interesting.

http://www.networkworld.com/community/?q=node/12531

The article mentions that the Easter Seals Society, the government of Thailand, and Michael Jackson are Registerfly customers.

Anyway...
It suggests the following method (authored by Valentino Vicceztar, proprietor of "Poker Rouge Blog") to get the your Registerfly transfer codes. Since I don't deal with Registerfly, I have no idea if this works or is even a good idea:

1. Create A New Register Fly Account.
2. Login into the Old RegisterFly Account.
3. Click on Manage Domains
4. Click A Domain Name
5. Click On Change Ownership
6. Click On "Push your names to another user"
7. Click Continue
8. Enter The User ID of The New RegisterFly Account
9. Verify The User ID of The New RegisterFly Account is Correct
10. Click Continue
11. Select Each Domain Name to Push
12. Check the Check Box Marked "Change the Whois/Contact info on the names being pushed"

*** Check This Box Only if your Domains are Showing ProtectFly Information on a Whois Database, If it's Showing your Real Information with Working Email Then Continue Without Checking the Check Box ***

13. Login into Your New RegisterFly Account, Your Recently Transferred Domains Should Be All Unlocked.
14. Click Change Whois Information And Get Authorization Code for Each Domain.
15. Begin Transfer to New Registrar.

He he. Ok so it was in the contact area......Here are the steps to find your auth to do an external transfer of your domains to another registar:

Kindly use the following steps to be able to gain auth code and unlock a domain.
1 Log into your Registerfly account

2 Click on total domains

3 Click on the domain for which you require auth code
Dont just put the check next to it. Actually click on the domain name+++++

4 It will say locked at the domains properties click on it to unlock the domain.

5 Click on domain contact information (plus sign)

6 Press configure

7 On the next page will be to see the auth code for the domain at the bottom of the page.

Please also remove the protect fly for the transfer of domain.

As far as your domains if you dont get them out. I am not sure. I guess they will expire when they are suppose to and go to the domain dropped list. Or just float in Cyber Space

If your whois info and expiration dates are correct, probably not much more than confirming you are the owner via your registrant contact email and providing another account detail for your domains to reside when Icann takes action in a few days.
when iregistrations.com ceased opperating some time ago with several of my domains registered there, domains were seemlessly placed in an account I had with enom after being approved via my contact whois registrant information.

If your whois is incorrect, contacting all parties about specific domains will at least leave a record incase registerfly's last Special Offer is a fire sale.
