It would seem that the older links for a free domain name (for small businesses) are working again over at register.com.

A CC is required and a minimum of $1 is required in order to verify the card (typical). I'm sure a branded gift card would work fine. Just make sure you transfer your domain after 60 days in order to avoid the $35 renewal!

Your solution:

#1 Go to Walmart and buy one of those $25 Visa gift cards for $3. Not the refillable ones. Just the plain ol' Visa gift card. Most banks offer Mastercard / Visa gift cards as well. Both will work fine, so long as they have the CC logo.

#2 Get a checking account and with it, a debit card.

#3 Paypal w/ a debit card.

Easy.
