Regarding buying of domain ?

Hi,

A newdie here, Have some queries regarding domaining, could anyone clear it of for me ?

1) Say I have a domain and want to sell it here, how do I accept payment and transfer it to the buyer.
2) How do I find the value of a particular domain ?

Sure I can help

The answer to your first question is most people sent and receive money via paypal, its easy and considered safe. You transfer the domain via a push from the register you registered it at to ether a account on the same registered or if the buyer requests and it isn't a problem then a account on a different register. Most of the time it will be the same register than you ave the domain on at the moment.

And the answer to your second question is you can post your domain name is the appraisal section located here Domain Appraisals - NamePros.com and the members will try there best to price the domain on how much they think it is worth. I wouldn't suggest any of the auto value sites, there normally way of the real value of the domain.

You make sure the buyer pays you first, never push a domain before the buyer pays for a domain.

If possible try to check profile & reputation of the person you are dealing with on this forum before you proceed with your domain name trade.

And if its a high priced transaction, always try to use SEDO/ESCROW for the sale. For that you would need to open up an account with them.

Okay, one more thing I have seen people selling certain domains here for as low as 10np$, does the buyer pay the registration fee as well or does the seller sell at loss ?

For sale, I think you need to establish a hard limit for regular PayPal payment. I'll usually take a $60 payment for one domain by PayPal. On the other hand, a payment of $250+ has to be Mass Pay or Escrow.com -- services that prevent chargebacks.

The big question is how much money is too much for you to afford a chargeback? For me it's in the $100 to $150 range.

If someone sells a domain for 10np$, they are probably taking a loss. The buyer pays 10np$.

Okay so when somebody says they are selling a domain at say $x, only $x has to be payed by the buyer and no other fees.
