I would like a forum where members can post their referral ID from another site. A forum that cannot be linked to from anywhere else on namepros, and one that you do not get NP$ for. Theres some great offers out there and if you just give people the link without the ID, the only person who gets profit, is the site itself. Basically, why benifit one, when you can benefit... more than one! :bingo:

Hope you like the idea,

I think the system in place is as Fair as possible ....

Who decides who's aff link deserves to be posted ? - We couldn't just post 10,000 multiple links with different ID's hoping someone would chose ours ... First come first Served would mean Tons of extra Mod Responsibilities (It's hard enough to keep up with folks trying to sneak them in now - lol)

I think by allowing Us to Share Goog Ads is about as good as it can get - it is the Ultimate Top Shelf Aff program ATM -

Have you tryed pointing a Related Domain owned by you toward the Aff link and maybe linking it up ? Ahem .... Hint Hint ....

Exactly, first come first serve, if everyone already has it, tough luck. Its better than having no place at all for a referral link.

I dont think its a good idea, as IMO it would degrade this community as it is meant to be a 'Business Forum' not a place to swap referall links..... :(

My vote = No.
Not sure why, I'll just let the vote speak for itself ;)

Personally, I'm against any and all "Referral Links" as I believe them to be spam-inducing and my belief that they do not enhance the overall professionalism of a Forum IMHO.
As Staffโ„ข I see more far more negatives than positives, in general ... and the positives only seem to benefit a few. If everyone posted and promoted a "Referral Link" - even in some fair (which "Referral Links" are permitted, which are not?), controlled area - I still believe the (even non-linked "promotions") spam would creep its way outside of that area. :cy:
There may be a happy medium one day ... but I just can't see it at this time!
My two sense.

IMO a referral link gets one user involved in a site that they could benefit from as well as benefit the person that gave them the link. Just for example, if you are registered for one of the free ipod offers, you aren't going to want to tell somebody about it, but not give them your referral link. It leaves a lot of people out in the dust about what they could be missing.

Meaning ... if you are registered with one of those free Ipod dealios, you'll only tell other folks - who, of course, you want to click on your "Referral Link" - about the free Ipod dealio IF you hope they will click on your "Referral Link", right? :gl:
Who's missing more ... the person being registered or the second-to-come person clicking?

Just because I'm trying to understand the overall balance (on an active, diverse and growing domain name Forum) of "Referral Links", truly.
Thanks much.

Not correct, I will only tell them about the deal with my referral link included. A forum I want would not be limited to only using referral links. If a member really wants to be as evil as REMOVING your referral link to not credit you, its their own choice. But if your talking about an offer, that you still need referrals in, why would you want to post it without your referral link?

I don't understand this question. Please rephrase.

Understandable ... I think we might even be saying the same thing ... :gl: :)

You mentioned above, "It leaves a lot of people out in the dust about what they could be missing." I countered with, "Who's missing more ... the person being registered or the second-to-come person clicking?"
Whether this is coming across well or not insofar as semantics here in this space ... I perceive these "Referral Lins" to benefit more those posting them rather than those clicking on them, IMHO. In that sense, "Referral Links", in practice, benefit fewer rather than the majority, in my view.
Just my two sense, and all opinions appreciated.

Indeed, that is true, the benefit is not balanced. Just think how many sites are not being posted because there is no forum for this. There is one that I am refraining from posting, that can make someone %365 of their investment a year. There are probably many that would like to benefit from this site, like I am. However, nobody benefits, except me, because the referral link is not being posted. In that sense, isn't it bettert to let multiple people benefit unbalanced rather that just one?

Thanks,

And this is where two further complexities arise ... fairness (which "Referral Links" would be permitted, which not?), and then their inherent spam-inducing nature IMHO >>> "that can make someone %365 of their investment a year."

See where I'm coming from? :gl:
Thanks for the dialogue.

I do not see the spam issue as much of a problem. Some rules and a specific mod would keep it under control. I am sure many, including I, would like the job of being a mod for the forum.
