Redirects -- Legal question

Hello all!

This is my first post -- I'm glad I found this forum it looks like it will be very helpful!

I was wondering a few things!

Ok, say for example... I am in the high-end clothes-retail business.

1) If I bought Versace.com (obviously its taken, but theoretically)... and built up the website to say "JC's Clothes Sales" ... and on the top there is an option to buy Gucci shirts.... and then down in the middle it says "Versace" suits. Is it legal to sell these products on a domain name like that? Can Versace try to sue me and take the domain name from me?

2) OR, say I buy Versace.com ... and then make it redirect to "JCClothing.com" ... where I am selling versace suits..... Is it legal??

If you buy a domain using someone elses Brand or TM .... Yes - You would more than likely have problems if you were selling items similar to or especially trying to sell their actual products.

Some companies/individuals "might" give you permission to use their Brand - But its not very common except in the case of some Fan sites and a few Distributor type deals ...
