Hey we have re-designed our search template and website tell me what u think about our idea and layout

fORGOT TO ADD THIS :)
http://www.search-for-a.com

Some things we where shoting for :)

1. index page I wanted simple and quick for anyone looking to search. Face it I can't go up against the big search portals so quick interface is needed

2. wanted to look a little professional

3. Now once inside the website we used a mambo portal and have though of setting a search community. Meaning if you looking for help in any basic topic we want to be to place to start. We even set up a forum for search.

Tell me about the idea?

I have to go post in another thread. Gotta start to populate the forum :)

thanks your kind words and suggestons on what more can we add as tools to the site is great.

Auggie

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

It's hard to comment on, without actually "seeing" your progress thus far.

Considering this is a search portal, most visitors won't bother waiting for the page to load, especially that flash header. If I was to create a search engine, I would try to match it with Google- fast loading times with only one graphic (the logo). On your website, when a search is made, the design of the page with the results doesn't match the homepage at all. I also like Google's concept of text ads rather than banner ads, since that improves the loading time drastically, as well. I don't know, I just don't think a better design means a better search engine. It's load times that matter.

I think the new search engine design is much more simple and effective. Great work turnkey!

Edit: Could you possibly make the font under the "Webmaster Services" something other than Times New Roman? Furthermore, when I place a search and click on one of the results, the images in the frame created on top of the website don't appear. You might want to take a look at that, as well.

I have finshed with the search engine area. Need to ask how and if I should set up a search community area.

The idea is to stay with the simple, just like what Mrwebsite has stayed above people are getting tired of all the banners, bells and all that so this is simple

quick access for people to ask where and how can they find "X"

I have used and seen many portal scripts. The one that i feel is simple, fast loading is

for a search site, not bad. Like google, consider changing the header thing every couple of days, like, for sunday, but some fireworks behing it or somthing.

Hey, there's still a few changes you should make. First of all, the title is a bit too long (make it "search-for-a" or something). Secondly, I would prefer (like many other visitors) if the results didn't appear in a new window. I'm not too sure if I understand your question in regards to the community. If you can clarify that up, I'm sure we can find a solution for you.

Hey, how about placing a box around the search, like this? It should look quite nice.
