Recommended Editor or IDE

Hi,

For a few years i have been using phpDesigner0x, i even have a license for the professional version which i am currently using however i am wondering if anyone can recommend another editor or IDE for me to try? (except dreamweaver)

I have heard Zend is good, is it worth the money? I am also looking for something a bit "more" than notepad2 or notepad+.

Any recommendations will be looked at thanks If you have experience with the program I'll be interested to hear it as well.

Offcourse zend worth the money. You will have good intellisense in it. zend will scan your current project for list of class. And it's debugging capability is really great!!!.
Really professional editor.

I have to vouch for NuSpehere's editor. I use it 8 hours a day and absolutely love it.

Debugging is truely easy, and can be run through an SSH tunnel for multiuser security on active sites.

Project and workspace handling is also really good. Also easy to work against remote servers through CVS or FTP with direct uploads from the editor.

Code completion is really smart compared to what I've seen in other applications, you also can customize a set of quick code templates that you use alot. You have a MySQL client within the IDE, as well as nusoap, terminal windows, searchable php/html/css/xhtml etc manuals.

There's also a nice code explorer to quickly look up your current project classes and functions, along with the search and replace in project files that unforgivably is missing in many editors.

For me it's definetely worth the money. I've tried both Zend and phpeclipse but none of them really saved my time and screenspace close to as good as Nusphere.

i agree with this totaly, i use it at work (where we just brought 15+ copys of it), and it saves us a hell of alot of time as well, with the new version, it has svn support directly in the document list as well, which is great, you can get a 30 day free trial as well - so you can see for yourself =)

If that's the only advantages then it does nothing phpDesigner doesn't do :P

Having said that I'll look into both NuSphere (hadn't heard of this one) and Zend
