The report is awesome for getting some insight into premium domains. One interesting thing is that renewal retention goes up as a domain ages; 1st year 62%, 2nd 72%, 3rd+ 84%.
I'm confused by some of the showcased domains. It says order.online was renewed for $27,000. The site has a DoorDash logo, but the main page gives a 404 error with no links going anywhere. What's the point of that? Did someone at DoorDash forget they're paying for it?
Something the report shows is there's a subset of registrants willing to pay $1k+ per year for a domain on a new gTLD. I'm guessing it's mostly businesses with concrete plans for generating reveue because that seems like too much for an individual.
