.tv Quick question about dropping .tv's

hey, i was wondering which sites i can backorder .tv's...


i know pool and namejet dont let you backorder .tv's, however snapnames does. are there any other sites, i really want to ensure that i get this domain if the owner chooses not to renew..

Also i think this name is going to be a premium if i do end up getting it , is there any way to know how much i can expect to pay ?

You cannot backorder a premium .tv, You have to wait until it drops and check the premium fee. www.ahead.tv

Welcome to the world of whacked out premium pricing by versign/enom. Has anybody been in contact with Enom etc to ask why they are going so crazy with the premium pricing??? Most 3 letter drops I have seen have went up 8-9X the original registration price...

Monster.com offers the service for non-premiums domains. But I'm unaware of anyone that's successfully used this service.

You could contact the owner since the domain has not expired. If you can get it BEFORE it expires, you will probably save yourself the aggravation of seeing the price jacked up on the day of the drop.

If you really, really wanted to backorder a premium domain you could hire a drop catcher. There may be a couple of people who could manage this through the Enom API but it will cost big $$$ for their services.

However, I don't think there is much demand for dropping premium .TVs at the moment.

lets say i get a droppd domain.. i pay the snapnames fee, then do i get thedomain for a year before i have to pay the renew fee? or right when i get the domain, the fee comes with it?

Snapnames has no way of catching a premium .tv. They can only be bought and kept with ENOM no where else are they available to register a premium .tv

You cannot drop catch a Premium with a script and complete the purchase! They can only be purchased manually as you have to physically verify credit card details before the purchase is completed.

As EQ say's, you can only purchase premiums through Enom. To date, I have not come across anyone who has a script that they use to catch domains to register directly with Enom.

Great points above. In addition, I've never heard of anyone needing a script. Premium .TVs are dropping like hotcakes and people aren't exactly lining up to catch them, manually or otherwise.
