Hi, I'm unsure about a couple of things..

Firstly, is it true that after registering a domain you have to wait for 60 days before you can move it? So, for instance, if I registered a domain tonight with GoDaddy and wanted to then move it over to Dotster, would I need to wait 60 days before I could?

Secondly, what happens if you have your domains hosted with a website (E.g. WHIZ.IN), and the site goes bust/closes? What happens to your domains?

Thanks

1. you can not move until after 60 days.
2. it is ok if hosting goes bust. You can just change your name server and move
to someone else

I would recommend hosting your domains away from registering them. So If host went down, no problem..

But a registrar won't just close and you lose your domains if thats what you ask. :D

Oh okay thankyou

Also, one other thing...

I'm in the process of buying a domain from someone.
The payment is pending at the minute.

They've told me that as soon as the payment has gone through they will send me the AUTH code so that I can move the domain to where I would like. QUESTION -- Is this the normal proceedure? I mean, is the auth code all that I will need? I always thought name transfers were done through "Pushing".

Thanks.
