In directorys, they usally ask for the title. Is it better to put the name of your site, or the topic/keyword? IE:

Should it be:

Title: Domain Forum
URL: http://www.namepros.com

or:

Title: NamePros
URL: http://www.namepros.com

Suggestions?

Thanks :)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Definitely use keywords over actual domain name. Unless of course the domain name also has your niche keyword. Also, try to change up the title (anchor text) every so often. For example for NamePros you can use...

Domain Forum
Webmaster Forum
Domain Market
etc.

... having different anchor text is better for SEO purposes.

Agree with John, that's actually how your titles become known, you have to create a very strong association, like Namepros is about domains.

Actually you might want to be careful with that. Directories such as joeant.com and dmoz.org (ODP) do not allow you to have keywords as titles. The ODP editing style suggests you use the official site name or business name as the title. So in this case, the ODP would perfer you use NamePros as the title and not Domain Forum. If this was allowed then im sure every domain forum that wants to get listed in the directory would like to have Domain Forum as their title. As a user browsing the domain forum category in the directory, the last thing id want to see is every site in that category having the title Domain Forum or other miscellaneous keywords. Anyone browsing the domain forum section of the directory obviously knows they are looking for domain forums. Not to mention you can mention in the site's description that the forum is a domain forum. How many times does it have to be stated? This is not just an ODP editing style either. I know joeant.com uses this method as well as other good quality directories. If you are trying to get into a smaller directory that accepts almost any kind of submission as long as you pay for it, then by all means, submit your site however you want. But it wont work in some of the larger directories such as the ODP, joeant.com, illumirate, and more.

you can also put keyword and title together like Namepros - Domain Forum or something like that is good too :)

from submitter's point of view, i guess usign keywords will be beneficial to them.
but quality directories with high editorial integrity would not allow such keyword stuffing in the submission title.
