.mobi Question regarding MOBI registrar transfers... 60 day rule?

Hi everyone.

Here's my situation.

I purchased several really high value names that I have not announced.

The transfer to my registrar was supposed to occur today. This is 61 days after the initial registration, so it should be unlocked for transfer.

The reason that I'm transfering registrars is because the current registrar is in a different language. I can't read it.

So, here's the issue...

The current registrar updated the technical and registrant information to match my name today.

The new registrar says because this happened the name enters into a new 60 day locked period... and thus can not be transfered to the new registrar.

Is this true?

It seems severe.

Thanks for your direction on this!!! I could use some advice.

Strange that they would say that. As far as I know there is a normal 60 day you can't transfer to another registrar. But after that, I have not heard of a 60 day locked period. I have heard of GoDaddy locking domains for 60 days that get pushed to different accounts too often as a security measure.

I did not find anything on Google.

Hi Jeremy, From my own experience, whenever
name/address/phone etc is changed there is a time delay.
I think some registrars may be different. But I here emailing
them may be able to get it done for you. Remind them it was
done by them, not you. So you shouldn't encur the delay.

I agree with the above posters. Some registrars will lock the account after a push, like godaddy. But since they changed the info I would think an email to them may correct the problem. Good luck! Can't wait to hear what the domains are.

I don't think that's a standard...maybe just their policy?

What language are the domains/registrar?
