I just got a letter from enom.tv stating that my .tv will autorenew in two weeks. 1) my domains are set to NOT auto-renew, and 2) the domain doesn't expire in two weeks, it expires Aug 18th.

I double checked the status of my account and my domain are all set to NO for auto-renew.

Here's the letter:

Dear David Gridley:

The following services in your account 'xxxxxxxx' will automatically renew in two weeks:

Service Expire Date Description
--------------------------------------------------------------
WPPS/WhoIS ID Protect 08-17-2008 xxxx.tv

All dates are in MM-DD-YYYY format.

To renew these services do nothing. If you DO NOT want any of these services to auto-renew, please do the following:

1. Go to http://www.enom.tv.
2. Login to your account.
3. Go to the domains and services you DO NOT wish to renew.
4. Go to the auto-renew settings for these domains and services.
5. Select the appropriate option to have the domains and services NOT automatically renew.
6. Save your changes.

Remember, take no action and we will process the renewal order and attempt to extend the domains and services for you.

If you have any questions, please reply to this e-mail. Thank you for using our domain name services.

Sincerely,
eNom.tv

Funny it's acting as if they are set to renew.. anyone else experience this with them? Do I need to worry I'll get charged anyway?

The email looks legit - it appears the domain itself isn't set to autorenew, but a service (whois privacy) associated with it is.

Log in, pull up the domain(s) you don't want to renew, and be sure off auto-renew for all associated services is off.

Most likely there are no other auto-renew options except for the domain itself, but best to double-check ... from my understanding when an enom based domain deletes the whois privacy service terminates automatically.
