Question on Snapname bidding

Hello All -

I am new to the domain name game. I am interested in a couple domains and I registered with snapnames to try to snag it.

My question:

According to snapnames the domain doesnt drop for few weeks. To throw my hat into the mix I entered a bid of $60. Is that all I have to do to be eligible for the auction once/if it is snagged?

Does my initial bid offer need to high or will I be eliminated because someone offered alot more initially.

Thanks for any info.

Its $60 to place a backorder - If no one else places a backorder and they are successful in getting the name - you pay just $60

If more than one person places a bid then it goes for a 3 day auction - highest bid at the end wins of course :)

If they don't win the name - you pay nothing

There's no benefit to starting off with a big bid, alot of the time people do not start to bid until the last few mins.

The good thing about snapnames is if they get the name and it goes to bid - only the people who have previously placed a backorder can be in it, you cannot join in after it has started.

Good luck, welcome to NP's :)

make sure to put in a bid at pool.com and clubdrop.com too . . . sometimes snapname doesnt get the drop and the other two company gets it. . . in that case, you want to be able to participate in the auction too . . .

bid $61.
so you will win the domains I lazily forget to bid on.

Try to put "an hold" on that domain name on diferent websites... not only 1 ,2 or 3, try around 20 :)
I am not joking, but also be carefully that theyt will only ask you to pay if they will get your desired domain name.

UPDATE:

I snagged a few domains but I see that bidding against benfranklin, bonkers and vaxis is useless. :td:

They also have the regular auctions that start out at like 9$ - Those can be pretty fun if you find anything decent in the list ;)

Perhaps you are undervaluing the names?

Its not that I am... Its I dont have long $$$ like that to bid with them. Plus I have to figure out how to make money off of the domains before I can start buying them for such high prices.

If you don't know how to make money with what you are trying to buy its a fair bet you won't be valuing them correctly.

True, I know its a learning process. I will figure it out sooner rather than later.

you should start with registering regular domains rather than expired domains . . . you gonna lose a few houndred bucks before wising up :)
