Question from a Newbie

So I dropped cash parking cause it is useless "imo".

I have 100 ish names for the marijuana industry so I made a basic site and I forwarded everything to 420eh.com / .ca "my first site"

I'm not looking to get rich quick I think it will be 10 years before the whole industry explodes.

I have a couple newbie questions,

1) Can fwd domains gain value?

2) If you own a domain name before it is trademarked is that domain yours no matter what or can someone trademark then take a domain name? I watched youtube videos, read articles / forums but this is still unclear to me.

3) is it best to keep banners off sites until traffic picks up?

4) How can you see what traffic goes to your site?

29 views and no one answered, that is sad, look pal I am not an experienced domaining but I will share my little experience to try to answer your questions:

1) Can fwd domains gain value?

I have a site with the three top domains, COM, NET and ORG, but for the nature of the site I chose the ORG extension to create the site and used the other two as redirectings to the the site. Some days later I saw despite the fact I made SEO to the ORG and NET sites (strangely NET positioned first than ORG), the only stats alexa has are from the ORG extension, NET and COM are stats zero. Conclusion: the forwarding domains will not get stats but the landing domain will, however this are new sites and with very little traffic and the time of the experiment is short so I cannot tell this is true at all but I just tell you the experience for you to analyze and conclude.

In my own experience yes, people who try to start a site will not get any serious treat with a PPC marketing service until you do not get a decent traffic and the decent traffic will come if you lure people to visit your site without perceiving you are one more monetizer. When you get a stablished audience and they start loving your site, they will be more willing to click ads and support your site.

4) How can you see what traffic goes to your site?

Alexa.com but be aware you will need several weeks of work to see the results reflected from your site. I use a host service which includes an option to regularly see the visits to my site. Ask for it to your current hoster.

!) I do not understand your question. Please be a little clearer. Do you mean forwarding parked domains or what?

2) If you owned a domain before it is trademarked and someone starts complaining tell them, "to kick rocks and shove the COD, or whatever they may send up their and their lawyers ass."

3) Yes keep ads off, what is the point of ads if no traffic?

4) Implicate Google Analytics, etc. Do not count on or trust Alexa rank, it can be easily manipulated.
