Question for those who have sold on Sedo...

did you make your sale through someone finding your listing in the massive domain pool, or did you pay to have it promoted on their front page? It seems there are so many listings it would be hard to find yours in the mix. I've even searched for my own and couldn't find them unless I was extremely specific (and this is on keyword domains too).

Nope

Don't waste your money to have your domain "featured". I have sold 10 or so domains on www.Sedo.com, none of them were featured. People will find your domain. I don't think people just search randomly. Most have an idea of what they want beforehand. They search for that, and hopefully see your domain along the way!!

while it may not hurt to try all possible avenues of promotion, my personal experience is that the domains which sell were found from a listing in a category with other domains and other factors, and not a paid 'feature' listing.

I got 2 offers for two of my domains at sedo from buyers who just typed in the name in their browser and found that the domain is for sale.
So, interested buyers will find your for-sale domains in one way or another without having to feature them at sedo's homepage :imho:

I have to agree, I have tried paying for improved visability at Sedo, however all of my sales came from people just looking through the normal listings or just going to the domain ( which was parked there ).

Just buy some great keywords , typein , traffic domains
(from me of course...) and park them in Sedo.
And now just wait.
They'll come to you with their $$$
