Question about an expired domain

A buddy of mine accidentally let his domain name expire, and would like to know when it will become available to register. It's not valueable persay, but he uses it for his personal portfolio.

Status: REDEMPTIONPERIOD
Updated Date: 31-Jul-2006
Expiration Date: 19-Jun-2006

Is there a definite date as to when he can register it again?

Redemption Period is about 30 days, then it comes Pending Delete for 5 days. After that you should be able to reg it if no ones are faster than you.

If it's not valuable as stated, the little over month window is the norm for a waiting period. But considering the climate for domain grabs, another option for your freind could be to contact the Registrar involved and pay the 150 plus fees to get it back without letting it expire.
