Question about a domain - Too much traffic !

Hi,

I have a question ....

I've registered couple of week ago a domain name .. Actually, it was an expired domain name (17 years old, ...)

This domain is now on a parking page ... For sale ... BUT

For a reason i don'T know, I'm having crazy traffic with this domain that I really don't have with the rest of my portefolio ... When I say crazy, I mean more than 15.000 visitors per day with lots of clicks and searches on my parking page... That's great ... But still I'm perplex... !

I really don't know what to do with it... I don't why I'm having so much traffic... Is it your case ? Have you ever experienced this situation ? I know that It sounds stupid to ask but ..I really can't explain it !

does you traffic show as type-in? or is it coming from various sites/searches/ etc.?

when I see traffic like that on any new domains I acquire, I look for two things:
1. 90%+ type-in traffic (which means a bot if your domain is not an exact match or something)
2. irregular clicks with no sense . For example, clicks on any ads shown on the lander page, without a specific pattern. Usually visitors arrive seeking a, more or less, specific thing. If you see totally random clicks then it's probably an intelligent bot.

I would like to see that domain as well. There might be number of reasons why it has such crazy traffic. Hope you get some clicks as well.

The traffic is coming from various countries...and varous other websites !

Actually, at the very beginning, when i've registered this domain, I had around 300 to 800 visits a day ... Which was great ! But it kept growing more and more with time ... I have clicks on it, of course ... But not as much as visits ... But I guess, it is more than probable to get more searches and clicks when you have such a large amount of visits on your domain !

But still ... Today, it's probably one of the best day ever ... I have an average of 1.000 visits per hour !

Not at all ... Really ! I just thought it was a nice name ... with one really good keyword !

My question ? Simply, "how can you explain that ? " As i'have never experienced this situation ... !

My guess is it is direct type in traffic from either typos or from people typing the address of a previously developed site. It's impossible to tell you exactly without knowing the name. Type in your domain into Google "yourdomain.com" and look at its history on archive.org. That should give you some clues.

If it was an expired domain it's perhaps traffic from an old site, I would check the wayback history and consider redeveloping into something similar if this is the case. Then you can really capitalize on traffic whilst it's still hot, better to look at than a parked page right?

Alright, I'm calling you out on the real intention of this thread. I'm guessing you're trying push a sale based on the "too much traffic". And porn website! You don't wanna think about what you would do with it considering the dirty origins of its traffic??

If that's the case, then why do you own asspectations.com, meanporn.com, and other bunch of other adult domains. And the domain is "adult collection" so why pretend to be surprised.

I was just looking for info about that traffic as it was so sudden ... But thanks anyway for your help !

PS: I knew some of you would look into my portefolio even if it's not the matter of this subject ... Not fair !
