The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com and it's another beauty. A prime geo domain went for $250,000 which places it among the 12 best sales reported so far in 2006. We also saw the biggest .info sale ever reported with a top-drawer one-word name commanding over $35,000 at Sedo. Great Britain's co.uk led the Country Code chart for the second week in a row but Germany's .de and the European Union's new .eu extension won the overall numbers game claiming five chart entries each. Read all about it here: http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm

Also new at DNJournal this week is the latest lampoon from our humor columnist Dear Domey. After ranging from songs to cartoons to news spoofs in his recent columns, Domey returns to his musical roots with inspiration from an oldy but goody, Madonna's "Material Girl'. Domey debuts at #1 with "Superior URL"! Check it out (and hum along) here: http://www.dnjournal.com/deardomey.htm

Thanks Ron! Is it me or does the Casino.info sale seem way underpriced?

If an IDN sold for enough, it would be on the list. Theres no need to create a "special list."

It was a suggestion to Duke and I didn't open the floor to debate.

Yes there should be an IDN list. It isn't a special list but they're foreign names in Asian countries who don't use ascii characters.

Domain speculators should know what is being sold and should know that IDNs are becoming a trend. They are here to stay whether you like it or not and are only going to go up in value over time.

I really wish I could sell a domain for xxx, xxx.

I'm sure everyone here wishes the same thing. :)

Is there anyone on this board that has sold a domain for that much?

Don't put words in my mouth. Who said we like to miss a market? I simply said no one reported the sale to us. We do not have ESP (though it would certainly come in handy) :)

A post on a forum (not to mention one written in Russian) is not proof of anything. We have to see documentation proving the amount claimed was actually paid before we will list a private sale.

Try to treat Ru-Center - www.nic.ru - for the info. They operate the zones .RU and .SU and they own the auction along with their auction of expired names.

BTW, what ESP does mean?

ESP is extra-sensory perception. If you have ESP you can read someone's mind without them saying anything. :)
