Just wondering what you guys think of that statement.

Would rather have 10 really great LLLL.com's Premium letters pronounceable etc.

or

100 average not so pronounceable LLLL.com's with non premium or semi premium or mixed letters?

what would you pick?

Thanks,

Chapel

Quality for sure.
But as ItalianDragon and Filter will attest to, XQZ are of the highest quality imaginable in other countries with massive population like China! :$: So in other words pretty much all 4 letter LLLL.com are quality, apart from the VQXZ.com domain names known as anti premium because the letter 'V' is not used in China, but these anti premiums are highly sort after by domainers like Filter

So the conclusion is all LLLL.com are quality. So grab an LLLL.com any LLLL.com they are all good :)

I like quality too, though foreign possibilities are sometimes a surprise.
I bought XIHY com and only after that found out that .cn is a Chinese ISP :)
Not much value for English speaking people, but valuable to Chinese...

I like some better than others, but if the price is right ... well, I like making some money too!

$45 -> maybe $150 in a year, minus $7 renewal
$450 -> maybe $1500 in a year, minus $7 renewal

looks a bit better after renewal fee for the premium, if you've got $450 to invest all at once (I usually don't)

but what if the outcome is more like:

$45 -> maybe $250 in a year, minus $7 renewal
$450 -> maybe $2000 in a year, minus $7 renewal

??? ... given that there may be plenty more LLLL.com domainers ready to buy for $250 rather than $2000 ...

or how about

$45 -> maybe $85 in a year, minus $7 renewal
$450 -> maybe $5000 in a year, minus $7 renewal

etc etc etc ...

I really can't predict how each niche is going to pan out ...

But I like the odds for scenario #2, and the risk/reward ratio looks okay to me too. It's IMO a bit easier to overpay when buying at $xxx than at $xx ... unless you know what you're doing. (And if I felt like I knew what I was doing, I might be a lot more interested in LLLL.com at $xxx prices right now. But I just buy the ones I can afford, if I like them, premium or not. And I do like a lot of the "anti-premiums" ...)

Yes, I know you are an ebay kind of guy like me and also a forum trader to trader kind of guy (now thats where our trading simmilarities end though, I can't forum trade, I have no idea how to make that work, speaking for myself only)

But anyhow moving along to my point, those who class themselves as 'domainers' are usually looking for endusers and 'the end user price' for QXJZ.COM will be the same as the end user price for YAAA.com if the company needs it. So putting end users as the 'goal' for LLLL.com into the equation, I don't think the letter combos matter that much

eBay and forums are good for making fast sales for fast cash, and there's a lot to be said for that. But I do have one LLLL.com (with 2 "bad" letters) that I'm holding for an $xx,xxx sale to an obvious end user (however long that might take, no hurry), and a couple more that I'll be looking into ...

end user sales take time though - so if there are 5 potential buyers right now for YAAA and only 1 for QXJZ ... then a reseller looking at selling to end users considering the "time is money" angle will be inclined to pay a premium for YAAA, especially given the potential for a significantly higher sales price if 2 or more of the potential buyers for that one have to bid against each other to win it ...

Selling on eBay and forums is easier for me to get a handle on right now though - so seeing a bunch of quick flips yielding 50% or 100% ROI after a month pr three is an okay way to get started while figuring out the end user sales ... Another angle that might work out well is to pick up a nice all-premium piece for an end user sale and then have a good broker find the end users and put the deal together.

Speaking from experience here... Selling 1800+ LLLL.coms was a painful experience.

I've also found 1000+ domains a painful experience. I'm in the process of downsizing.

I like 100 over 10 but I also like 100 over 1000. 10 is too limited for me but 1000 is too much work.

I'm having a clear through but you have to sell to pay bills.
Well worth buying quality over quantity.

Worth paying high xxx up for good LLLL than low xxx for far lesser quality :imho:

I mean, just check my siggy :hehe: :sold:
