Hi guys,

I am making the jump on a very expensive domain name. I have around 20 names hosted with GoDaddy, but these are just hand regs and valued quite low, so I don't mind them at GD all that much. With all the horror stories lately from shady acts and practices of registrars I would like some advice as to where I would feel the most comfort in "registrar hosting" my $10K + .com name. Note: I have my own hosting server so I don't require any hosting from any registrar.

I don't want any funny stuff, I will reg it for the next 10 years, etc.. but I just don't wany any problems in the near future (ie: Your $10K name was lost or your $10K .com has value we see, so your renewal is $20K).

Question: I just noticed GD has what's called an Account Rep. Is this something I need? what is the difference in having an accout rep vs not having one? Is this just for bigger domain name portfolios?

Any help would be appreciated.

(and yes, you can say I'm a bit paranoid) :)

Just becouse your paranoid does not mean they are not after you :alien:

You always have a risk of getting hacked , But I would think a Company like Godaddy would be just as safe as or more safe than any of the smaller companies.

Honestly... I have several valuable domain names at GD. - all of the domains in my sig are there. Inlcuding the lll.com and DreamDesign.com (both are realistically 5k+) domain names. I am comfortable with the domain names there, I have never had any problems, and I used to work for GD - so, if something does happen, I'll just go to their main office and yell at Bob.
