PSP.COM - How did Sony get that??

PSP.com now directs to YourPSP.com, so it looks like Sony has managed to get hold of the name ('PSP.COM')... how the heck could they get such a good name in such a short space of time!?

Here's another one for ya. How did Nissan get z.com? I thought domains had to be at least 2 characters long.

You used to be able to get 1 & 2 character domain names, until they changed the rules.

They can have the domain name for as long as they wish to renew it

From the point that they changed the rules, if you fail to renew the domain name, it is gone forever!

psp.com is as valuable to sony as sex.com would be to anyone else.
I wish we could find out how much the name was sold for.

Could you imagine if there was an auction for psp.com? That would be one insane auction.

I wouldn't spend too much time thinking about it... it'll eventually leak out. Plus, it doesn't really matter - the deal is done anyways.

Put it this way. PSP being such a high end domain name, the original owner would normally not want to sell it.

Any average person would except a million dollars for any name, whether they want to sell it or not.

Therefore whatever price Sony offered would take the name off of there hands and place it in theres.

Well, I dont think Sony would mind paying over 1 mil $, as (I think) they get's like 50000 times that much a day. Sony is really one of the worlds biggest corporations. Just look at your own home? For almost 100% you have atleast one thing that is Sony.
Anyway, interesting thought.
