I've noticed a lot of designers are selling templates as PSD files only now.

Is there a good tutorial for turning a PSD layout into an actual HTML coded webpage with all the buttons and content areas working?

These are not designers, but hobbyists. You get what you pay for.

Make sure not to slice it too much or it will load quite alot of images just cut main parts

No, actually these are some of the most professional designers out there. Folks that make a living from designing websites.

I know you get what you pay for, you shouldn't make assumptions.

You complained that all you got was a PSD; if that's not what you had in mind and now you're facing the dilemma of what to do next with it, then the so-called designer didn't deliver the goods. A web site design is exactly that, a full creation; otherwise it's simply a mockup. Even the laziest designers provide templates (home & inner fully sliced pages, images, HTML, CSS etc) and the so-called "pros" you have in mind only bother to give you a PSD?

Whoa, whoa whoa. Where are you getting this from? Go back and read my friend.

I made a simple statement (with no complaining or frowning):

"I've noticed a lot of designers are selling templates as PSD files only now"

Then I asked a simple question:

"Is there a good tutorial for turning a PSD layout into an actual HTML coded webpage with all the buttons and content areas working?"

Are you having a bad day or something? I didn't say anything negative with my first post. I just asked a question. I didn't even say I *bought* a psd template.

if that's not what you had in mind and now you're facing the dilemma of what to do next with it, then the so-called designer didn't deliver the goods.

I hope the keyword in that sentence is *if*. I haven't paid for anything or faced any dilemma.

I just stated what I was noticing and decided I wanted to learn more about turning PSD files into HTML files.

I know exactly what a web design is.

I never said the so-called pros were only giving me a PSD file. I said I noticed "a lot of designers selling templates as PSD only files now".

I didn't say I hired one of these designers or that they didn't supply a fully coded template.

Relax, it's not all bad. Nobody is complaining except for you. Take a breath.

I just posted a statement and asked a question. I'll say it again, you shouldn't make assumptions.

psds are great - theyre totally edible. people who are selling psds should have them already sliced up so all you need to do is go to file > save for web.

unless you know basic css and html i would highly recommend not asking for JUST the psd, ask the person to do the page too - it might cost you more but it'll be worth it.
