Joomla help - PSD to Joomla template?

Hi,

I want to convert a psd template to a joomla template. I've googled the subject, but i don't get any real clear cut instructions on how to do this, so i decided to ask it here.

I want to convert a psd to joomla while sticking w/css as much as possible (ie, no table based design) i know there's a site that has a tutorial, but it's very old tutorial and all they do is chop the psd into a gazillion slices and in the end, you've got one giant table with a million colums, rows.

About 6 months ago, i signed up with a joomla template of the month thing because they offered the psd, but guess what, they don't provide instructions on how to convert the files, and when i asked for assistance, they sent me a link to another service that does this type of stuff.

I am not totally clueless when it comes to psd,html, and css....but i can't find a clear cut explaination of how to make joomla templates....and it seems as though that all the major sites out there w/joomla templates just want your money.
