Problem with registered .fr domain...assistance please!!

I registered a .fr domain at Eurodns, I went through the process of regging the name and it all went fine. A day later I received an email from them saying I need local contact in France to have one of these names.

Wouldn't it make sense to tell people during the the registration process what they will need, so you dont have to go through the wait, then the email, then the refund etc etc

I know some registrars supply you with a lcoal contact but that doesnt help me now I have registered the domain. I only went with Eurodns as they were the cheapest.


I would prefer to keep the name to be honest, but if I have get rid of it, I will...any suggestions??

thats why i only stick to .com, .net and .org.

Can you not put a message on craigslist or something asking for someone to be your contact?

Either that or post in the offtopic section asking if anyone is French

I normally stick to .COM and .NET but when there is a name with obvious value I can resist it lol

You must be resident in France.
Now French citizens resident abroad are eligible too, but you then need a local admin contact.
Bottom line: you cannot own the domain.
