Well, I thought I would give it a go to, I have listed markets.pro starting at $1 with no reserve - I'll report back on what happens.

Ebay listing here: Markets.pro

Thanks Rob, I had that within 20 mins or so of listing.

At least we should all get a good idea where we stand with the '.pro' with this one :) %%-

With the exception of Bible.PRO it doesn't appear this .tld is doing very well.

Do y'all think it's the bad publicity??? :-/

Hey, it is just gone past 1/50th of the reg fee I'll have you know!!!

But seriously I think you might be onto something Lyte. I personally don't think the publicity has been that 'bad', I just think the release of them hasn't really filtered down to the end user yet. I think the reason I'll be lucky to hit reg fee on ebay now and not whiz past it is that nobody really knows if they are going to be taken from them or not at the end of the year (or who actually owns them). The way I have looked at it is that I think it will take more than one year to sort out (sedo aren’t even interested yet) and I am not prepared to pay the renewal on it while the uncertainty is still there. Just watch, when everybody who reged them during the offer period gets their 90 day renewal notice the market will be flooded with ‘about to drop’ .pro domains and in that environment I would be lucky to get anything. Hey, I might be wrong; I hope I am for the people who spent a lot of money on them. And I really hope I am wrong in this instance, as I will be a happy man with egg on his face. :D IMHO

I bought a "spare" .pro, just for selling and testing the market. so I watch those ebay auctions. :)

btw, did bible.pro really sell? it doesn't look like there's been a change to it since mid-March

Not bad publicity. Even the negative publicity is probably good for the TLD and sales. Here's what hurts:

1. Question about if/when ICANN or registrypro will do anything to stop the loophole exploited.

2. You don't really "own" them like other domains. Encirca is listed as registrant.

3. Renewal cost of at least $99. It could be higher yet if ICANN or registrypro dissallows the loophole and requires security certificates be purchased, or that you individually own two other third level names like the registry agreement really states.

Too many loose ends and unknowns to make a big investment in purchase or development.

I would like to believe that because I have some interest in a couple .PROs. BUT, I've been reading a lot lately on various forums and I've yet to read anything (at length) positive about the .PRO tld.

Don't get me wrong, I like the .tld and could put two/three to good use. BUT, there are some serious questions still unanswered. :|

Probably sometime in the future, I might give another few months or so to see what happens. Apparently Sedo do intend to allow it, hopefully in the near future %%-

I just 'launched' the first of my .PRO sites a couple of days ago, WebHost.pro, and almost instantly had various 'couple of hundred $' offers on it. But it'd take way more for me to part with it (if even), especially now that I have started developing it. :tu:

Bless Y'All !

Interesting Tread...

I bought a few of the .pro names when they were $49 and listed one of them on ebay, voice.pro and did not get one bite. I am in the communications industry so I figure if their are any problems that I can justify what I have, i.e., telecommunications.pro, voiceoverip.pro, WISP.pro (wireless Internet provider) etc.

Keep after Sedo, I would like to park them to see what kind of traffic they can actually generate. %%-

I had a reserve of $10k, which I thought was resonable. But I guess it is too soon and there is too much speculation, so I will hold on to it for awhile.
