I was just curious what your personal experiences have been and what you have found works best for pricing your domains on sedo. For example do you do mainly just buy-it-now, make an offer with asking price listed, or make an offer with no asking price - or some combination of these?

Also what have you found works best in pricing your domains for these different methods in relation to what your target price is?

What is your opinion on the buy-it-now option getting strongly encouraged at sedo? Sedo says domains sell 3 to 6 times faster if they have buy-it-now, do you agree?

Thanks for the help.

Hi

i've been listing and selling domains, as well as receiving domain parking revenue from sedo since 2004.

for some domains, i did/have "price listed", for others "no price" and for some a "minimum price".

domain sales have come from each group defined above and many sales have been "directed" thru sedo's escrow, with "pre-agreed pricing" before the bid is actually submitted at sedo.

the latter being those sales which were generated from "incoming unsolicted email and phone" inquiries.

for one of my recent sales at sedo, the domain was priced at $1500.00, and an offer came in at $1200.00, which i later accepted. (10000 dot org)

i think sedo encourages you to put pricing in the $$$ to low $,$$$ range, in an effort to increase their volume of commissions, while at the same time, giving you hope of increasing your volume of sales.

i think a BIN option would be cool, but you need to monitor any domain where you put a bin price.

over time the value could increase and you could be obliged to sell if you don't keep up with the market or forget about the listing.

but in the end for whether "to price or not to price"... all depends on your need to liquidate.

imo...
