Hey guys,
I've got a friend who's not a member of here. I'll send him the link to this thread and maybe if he's interested, he'll join up.

Anyway, he has owned a .com domain name for about 2 or 3 years. He got the .net back in 2000 and also owns the .org. It is an x-word.com name.

He just received an inquiry about the .com, and things the potential buyer is serious about it. He didn't specify an offer, but asked for a price. In a round-about way, however, I think he was offering $500.

So my friend's got two questions:
1) What's a good escrow service to use? I personally have never used one, so I don't know.

2) Without you knowing the domain, what would be your guess for a good counter offer, and what would you think that the value of the .net and .org combined with the .com to be worth?

If my friend wants me to, I'll mention the domain later... but I'll let him decide on that.

Rudy,

Frankly, without having more detailsa bout the domain name, no way to know whats its worth. Also, you always want to research the person making the offer. If its a huge company, your chances of swinging for the fences are substancially better then a smaller one.

As a seller, Escrow.com should protect your friend just fine.
