Hi everyone,

What tools or websites do you use to monitor the prices of a list of domains? I’ve come across a few options, but I’m curious if anyone here has a go-to tool that they rely on.

Do you do it manually it currently? Or you don't see a need for this tool?

Looking forward to hearing from fellow domainers.

Hi

if it's a really good name, then i doubt the owner will be dropping the price.
and if the price keeps dropping then is it worth it?

i think some folks have written scripts to monitor auctions,
but if i'm looking then manual is preferred choice.

imo...

I get your point and I think that's a valid concern from an investor pov. But it's not always the same name that goes for a discount. Plenty of domainers sometimes drop prices significantly when they no longer want to hold on to a domain. Even the more significant drops are like $50k to $30k so might be worth monitoring.

What do you mean by manual? Would you rather manually monitor auctions and prices rather than have a tool do it for you?

I haven't tried it, but Sudos.com has a specific function to monitor the prices of external listings and receive notifications when they reach a certain threshold:

Hi

yes, manually.

imo...

Wouldn't that become too tedious though? Checking and rechecking prices, especially with multiple domains... its a process that can be efficiently automated, don' you think? Getting alerts direcly mailed to you in case of price drops etc isn't that difficult with a tool

Thanks for sharing your input anyhow!

Hi

i like tedious.

sure, it can be automated,
but that takes the fun out of looking for pennies on the sidewalk.

sounds like you're polling for a product.
if so, then just build it and see who signs up.

imo...

Maybe worth looking at the Amazon example. It's pretty good stuff for their Basket or saved list. Every time you connect to Amazon it will automatically give you an updated price for basket/saved items. Almost instantaneous when you click on your basket, works with hundreds of saved items. No historical data captured though, just further updates.

Worth looking at if you wanted to see if you could scrape a model

My tool will work like the Amazon price update notification. Every time you start the application on your pc (possible to install on cloud also), it will check if there is a price, dns, whois changes every 10 or 20 minutes. And it will send you email. The features is completed and I have tested. Releasing soon. It will be free for everyone.

I like price tracking

For crypto I use - cryptocurrencyalerting.com

For Amazon - camelcamelcamel.com

So, if there was something useful like that for domains, that would be great as well

This is exactly what DomDB's Domain Watch feature does.

Just copy/paste the domains you're interested in and you'll be emailed of new listings and price drops, usually within 60 minutes.

Currently supports the following aftermarkets:
  • Afternic
  • Atom
  • Dynadot Market
  • Gname
  • HugeDomains
  • Namecheap Market
  • Porkbun Market
  • Sedo
  • Spaceship SellerHub
