Presidential Campaign Domain Question

Lets say I had a good idea of who a Presidential candidate was going to pick as his running mate and bought the domain name. Like owning www.KerryEdwards.com in '04. What could I expect to get for the name, from whom, and how should I sell it? I saw www.RonPaul.com went for $25k last month on eBay. Thoughts?

I'm talking about a combined name domain name, i.e.

PresidentlastnameVicepresidentlastname.com

like BushCheney.com KerryEdwards.com GoreLieberman.com etc.

This is usually the campaign's website.

I've now thought about it, and I don't think you should do it ... :imho:

Better to register a creative domain name and then uniquely develop it! :gl:

Even if they can take from u.....it will not make too much money.....i developed voterudy08.com and marketed it a bit....i made a good amount of money from adsense but it does not last long......and that was one of eight that i bought, the others made nothing and they were better than the above.

100% agree with jeff (and he knows a hell of alot more than I).......spend the money on something that u can build for the long run....most candidates have their sites developed and do not adjust based on their running mate...they just add a big logo that says they have "john/jane doe" as their running mate.

How long would that process take? Wouldn't the campaign need it immediately?

I earned very high $##,### in just 4 months just from ppc. The ppc earnings ended up being more than the best offer I received to buy the domain.

The name has so many backlinks that it still earns ~$20 a month.
