guys,

if you see a premo you want and can afford it - do not hang around - buy it!!!

its getting ridiculous now - i had one name in mind that dropped and went from reg fee to premium at $500 - i was thinking about getting it still and low aqnd behold it is now $1500 within a week of being at $500

this is the first time i have noticed two price increases within 7 days of a ref fee drop

safe to say that premos are here to stay for the long long foreseeable future

This morning I went to buy a drop name that Ahead said was $500.

By the time I got through the enom central process the premium was $2000.

Too shocked to continue the purchase and I will leave this one to others.

The name was Train.TV

That is good news for people who own premiums to maybe hold on to them if they can afford the renewals.

I suggest that for anybody who post on this board to let everybody know if they will be dropping premiums and buyers are interested to make deals that way. I don't know who owns Train.tv or if they ever come to this board but it would of been great to let buyers know in advance on getting the name for $500 before DM jacks up the price.

Thanks, Jim

Polish.tv was $500 premium and DM bumped it up to $5,000 premium after deleted.

good point jim

now those who bought premos and are thinking of dropping them have a stronger hand to play now and should see offers from those interested in the name offer more than a measely $100.....

for that money , the seller may feel squeezed and decide to let the name drop instead

Now imagine how many more .tv domains Enom would be selling if they stopped squeezing customers :)

Jeff.tv dropped the other day and was normal reg fee. I checked it out and it was still available and still showing normal reg fee. I pm'ed jeffoverman to let him know and by the time he went to reg it, it had been changed to a $1000 premium!!

Yeah, I wish I had snapped it up for him when I could. Looks like most common first names are going to change to premiums when they are dropped if they are not snapped up right away.

What would you personally consider a "super premium"?

but yet people let them drop and leave there ".tv friends" paying more if they wanted the name...

thanks len in your nice gesture, pm me that day...

thats one area i wish i knew more about is drops, higher profile names and yearly rental fees even though i have the basics down...

just imagine if hugh.tv drops, what the yearly fee would be on that...that was a nice grab and best of all reg fee... i am sure my luanne.tv would be 250 to 500 even... a lot of firstname.tv names if they were to drop would be charged i am sensing...ray has a few nice gems.... i only have one..

I know, it's getting totally riduculous! A few names that have just dropped & have been classed as $500 premiums, the very next day go up to $1000 Premiums! This is after I email Jason @ Demand Media mentioning the names & asking if there are any discounts like before, which I don't get a reply for days only to be told that Jason doesn't look after Premiums anymore & will get the other person to get in contact with me, which I am still waiting on :td:

Renewal prices?

I don't know anything about .TV. I have a few that relate to our business like blackhawkweb.tv. Recently, I purchased MyEx.tv for $8 from someone at NP. From what I have been reading, I am starting to get the impression that TV is a little different. Do you mean if the domain is successful, eNom and GoDaddy raises the renewal price. If MyEx.tv were to become popular, would the renewal fees skyrocket? As for names, I recently picked up Abbie.tv. Because it is a first name, will I eventually end up paying a lot for it? Sorry to ask so many lame questions. When I get the time, I am going to have to search the TV section and find out if I should pursue .TV at all.

No, Enom can't touch the price until it expires. However once it does it can became a premium and than whoever wants it will have to pay a lot more per year for it.

Is eNom the only company doing this?
