.mobi Premium name strategy

Many of us have singular or plural versions of Premium names.

example: MessageBoards.mobi is PREMIUM, but MessageBoard.mobi is not.
(BTW it's not mine)

So what should the owner of MessageBoard.mobi do? Should he develop a site before the MTLD sells the Premium version.

How can he improve his position and the value of his domain?

Continue with your development plans ... to improve the position and value of your domain(s), IMHO. :gl:

Also, lobby mTLD ... to get these others into the hands of End users, like yesterday! :talk: :imho:

I agree that we should all be developing our names.

Question: if you develop a singular form of a premium name and then get a TM, how will that affect the Premium name when it is sold.

Depends. All legal matters are about the specific circumstances, IMHO. Please consult with an attorney who specializes in ™ law. :gl:

1. check to see if there are tm issues with the term

2. make a site that does not infringe on the possible tm's

3. hope the future owner of the premium comes calling with checkbook in hand

We all agree that developing, after the TM has been checked is the way to go.

What could be interesting is if you have developed a name and someone buys a premium name that may then be considered "confusingly similar" to your established website.

All legal matters are about the specific circumstances....so true
