Does it frustrate anyone else that folks decide to use these sort of titles for their postings: Premium Domains! Great Domains! and when you open up the posting it is full of domains like abc578mikkeslemonude.com? Excuse me if I am being rude, but some people need to recheck the definition of premium. :imho:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

eBay how I hate thee.

I think it would be great if eBay started putting the actual domain in the summary page instead of having to view every listing for the name.

I agree with you too! You see also ridicilius pricing as 1.000.000$ for sucking domains

Exactly! I was initially referring solely to these forums, but Ebay is worth mentioning.

I've never seen these tactics at Ebay  - Yeah Right ! It is aggravating trying to sort through so many Auctions/Sales to find maybe a handful describing the actual Product .... and don't get me started on "Shipping" Fees on Domains ~ Even seen some recently that had "Must Pick Up" in the notes .... Would I need a 2 ton truck or bigger to pick up that domain ? Do .Com's weigh more just like in Search Engines ?

:p

WelL first off there are very few great domains and they are usually not selling for $10 in a forum. Ebay is mote annoying than NP we should be like DNF and DS you must state name in the title. I hate the word rare too, Rare 4 letter Rare Celebrity name its is a joke.

I know! How annoying is that? I totally gave up looking for any decent domain names on there. I hope Ebay starts losing popularity with the "public" soon.

It definitely frustrates me. I spend a lot of time going through eBay auctions to find domains that are even worth .com reg fee regardless of extension.

That was the whole point, wasn't it ;) Ho do you think I do here :)

But eBay would never think of doing something like that, because they wouldn't want to take any user suggestions. They have to come up with that on their own. :(

Yes, this annoys me, yet I am probably guilty of it at one point or another. I guess overall it is a matter of opinion rather than actual fact. But that brings up the questions of what the definition of "fact" is in determining an appropriate "tagline" of a domain name for sale. Good luck ;)

eBay is definitely worth mentioning since they've been around much longer, and have new domain name sales just about every five minutes.

But that doesn't mean the domains are worth much.

Anyways, Cheers to those who have the quality names and tout them as they should :D

I agree with you; I'm a very tolerating person, but some things just "irk" me :] .

So yes, misleading titles are very annoying and frustrating, but some people think using false titles is smart.

true, but the thing is... who is there to judge which domain is premium?
for some it is , for some it is not

Come on, there are many domains that people list on this forum for sale as premium domains that most domainers would value at less than $200. I know posters want visitors to their listings, but it is getting a little ridiculous. I used to get excited when "premium domain(s)" was in the title here at np, but I would say most of the time the domain is not premium at all. If someone has a good name they will almost definitely put the domain name in the title. I would love for this to be a requirement like DNF.

yes please. It is making newbies think that jhjfdkjkdh475674657.com is a premium domain, and whats happening is: when newbie see this kind of domain listed as a premium, he is listing his domains as a premium too, and if you will calculate how many new people this forum haveing a day, you will understand why this is happening. Yes we need some definitions:
Premium domain is....
Great domain is....
sh...t domain is.....

Can't say that will happen - at all.

This community we call NamePros is more user-friendly and contains more of an open atmosphere. That's the way I think it should stay.

YES. It frustrates the hell out of me I dont have time to waste looking @ PREMIUM DOMAINS selling for 5.00. It's MHO that if you list a PREMIUM DOMAIN there would at least be a decent price tag attached to it. I just read in the sales forum another PREMIUN LIST for sale with a minimum price of XXX.xx for each, There was approx 100 or so in the list and not one of them is worth XX.xx IMHO someone should limit these misleading titles on this forum. I understand the each person is entitled to their own opinions regarding what they have purchased but come on people placing a domains like www.i-have-premium-domains-for-sale-at-name-pros-and-have-ridiculous-prices-attached-123.com is not what people like me with $$$$$ to spend want to waste our time looking at.

What I like about namepros is that it caters for both the XX and XX.XXX buyer :hehe:

Such discussions are as old as advertisements, commercials - from ancient times sellers tried to focus customers' attention on their products by means of exaggerated expressions between others. Their function is not to describe product's real features but to catch your attention for a while. Anyway, everything is in customers' hands (depending on their resistance to false advertisement). I am pretty 'immunized' against such tricks and dont use them while selling but they can be annoying, sure. At last, customer makes final judgement.
