I am considering buying a domain that has a PR of 6. But, it is just parked at GoDaddy right now. As soon as the domain is developed will the PR be gone?

Thanks!

I have domains parked and they still have PR. As far as they don't lose their PR backlinks (which eventually will happen) they won't lose the PR (unless Google finds out and ban your site).

Yep i have PR5 domains parked now and they still keep there PR do not let them stay parked for to long though or tey will loose it.

Why park a PR5 site?

I would sell links. Or point it to a site I have made. No point in having pr if you dont use it.

Think of how much someone may pay to have solo text link on the page. Should be plenty as it will get clicked and PR will transfer.

If its parked it will loose the PR eventualy. Use it while you have it.

I guess I was just wondering what would happen to the PR after the site was developed, I would want to develop the domain for sure because of the PR, but if doing that would kill the PR then I don't see the point...

PR is a strange thing IMO....

Usualy the main url will keep some of the PR(probably half). But all inside pages will not have any unless you name the pages the same as the old site that got the PR had them.

Please note
domain.com/Mypage.html
is not the same as
domain.com/mypage.html

Both will have differant PR even though they point to the same page.

I have a few new domains that had pr0 and after parking them they have jumped to a pr2? so I guess its possible to gain pr as well as lose it parked.

where did you park yours? I have never had any new domains parked having non-zero pr.

I checked all my sedo parked names, they have zero pr. There are not many
clicks for those names. Is your name a high traffic one?

Maybe the PR on parked pages comes only from the fact they are hosted on the server of the Parking Program Owner ?
