PPC rates going wrong direction.

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Not long ago I seldom saw less than $0.05 and then many $0.03 down to a lot of $0.01.
Today an all time low 17 uniques, 8 clicks and revenue $0.00 :'( -- guess next they will be charging me for the clicks.

There are still some $0.xx thru $x.xx but far fewer than just a few months ago.

Try a different Parking company. You may find that they have larger payouts for the keywords that come up on your domain.

It depends on the keywords of your domain name as to how much you are likely to make. The company wouldnt charge alot for rubbish keywords to be advertised on your domain name. You will need to improve the keywords or find a way to get a larger amount of clicks. If your domain is based on something, do some research and change your domain name with the "trends".

Remember that you will probably recieving a tiny weenie profit from the clicks. $0.001 will still add up, you might find that you have made a dollar out of many clicks that show up as just $0.00

Been there done that. This specific example is from a sub domain entry to a developed site. Not high value keywords but decent traffic etc. The point is I am seeing this kind of decline for same domains over the past few months.

BTW The 'big guy' parking services don't want me, afternic gets zero traffic so it appears that it is Sedo.

If you look at the fabulous presentation. Google is starting to allow its advertiser to report its sales up or down with thier campaign. If sales are down their bid is reduced that percentage. If sales are up they stay the same. Which way do you think sales will go for everyone who reports?

Why don't you guys do affiliate marketing instead? May require a little more work to setup to make the click-in spiel more compelling and targeted, but hey each click can bring good money.

The PPC model is really a joke, but better than nothing I guess.

I tried that for a long while before i figured out they weren't reporting aswell. PPC gurantees I get something. PPA guarantees I get whatever they decide I deserve whenever they decide I deserve it. And you can't say it doesn't happen with the biggest of the big because it does.

Which products did you sell and who did you use as the PPP broker, mogul?

Used CJ back then. Either way it goes on. It's just two-fold when you go through a third party. I vowed to never allow it on my sites years ago. As much as the advertisers don't like the blue collar crime of PPC fraud I don't like for the white collar crime of PPA fraud. Atleast PPC fraud can be detected. PPA can't and never could be unless the service provided it controled the books. Where is the happy medium? I dunno but mabey someone will come up with it soon.

What makes you suspect CJ and its partners are bopping your behind, mogul?

At the time I didn't have any proof I just knew that I ran their banners on one of my sites for a year and not one dime not even one cent generated from them. I changed over to fast click and some PPC text links and instantly started makng money on it. So from that point on I decided I would never display anyones banners or links on my site without some form of guaranteed income.

I have tried other programs as you have said on a few domains and ended up with the same results. I even caught one of the providers when I had a friend signup through my site. They showed it as a free signup but didn't show it as converted. Never got anywhere after that. I've heard of this happening from others aswell.

Yeah, i've read about CJ doing this to its affiliates. Even the affiliate purchased through his own website by clicking the banner on his site, and it was not converted as sale.

i have noticed a downward trend this month for the first time since june but my ppc provider is trying to rectify this by putting new partners on. i was going to use cj but glad i didnt in hindsight.

Fair enough comment about the lack of results from CJ ads.
I have had 2 leads and 2 sales on one of my sites in 100K of impressions from 250 clicks. granted one of the sales was a $65.00 Commision and the other a $10 commision. It is still a lousy conversion rate.

But FastClick and CJ.com are Now owned and run by the same company ValueClick

So strange my portfolio is actually making 200% more profit than normal (these days)

I think the majority of lower payouts can all be traced back to Good Old "Google". Their payouts are a complete joke now but you can Bet the house that the amount of money they are taking in hasn't taken a dip ..... There has never been a large difference between the PPC bids on Overture and Google - But the payouts can not be compared , I'm averaging 5 Times as much using YPN .... and thats no exaggeration !

I use CJ.com on all of my developed sites and I think CJ is an honest operation.

I've had some problems with certain affiliate operators in the past, and I found out that the bad behaviour was not CJ but the affiliate operator cheating by not reporting conversions. My simple solution was to drop any affiliate program that hasn't generated income within a set period of time. This works because CJ.com has plenty of affiliate programs to choose from, so when you drop one, another similar program is easy to find.

As always, IMO.
