Hi guys,

Am i right in assuming these two differences between parking and developing

Parking

Parked domains should be generic one word .coms (best case scenario). This is because parked domains count on type in traffic due to them not being SEOd or listed in search engines like google?

Development

Domains that are less likely to attract type in traffic and rely on people finding them via search should be developed. SEOd, Landing pages, good content etc etc.

Is this the general thinking/tactic when deciding to park or dev??

I am assuming a random name parked will never recieve any visitors but am i right?? Or can you get listed in search engines even though your page is parked??

any thoughts or experiences of this would be appreciated

regards guys

Hmmmmm they do??

I figured seems as your simply changing the DNS settings to "point" at a parking companies pages there would be no way to SEO optimise the domain???

Or am i missing something??

Thanks in advance

The chances of a search engine listing your parked page highly, and this leading to traffic that actually clicks through to your ads is remote.

Your original post is somewhat accurate, except that development is good for any name - in fact, my generics that got type ins are probably my best money makers now that I've developed them. Its like the best of both worlds.

Cool thanks - yes. Ive got a name i am developing at the minute (there is currently a site sittin on it and its gettin traffic every day). But am totally changing the concept - so not too worriewd about that one as i am sure it will become popular (its a niche market)

But i was just wondering on how to decided which to develop and which to park. Now i have a better idea hehe. I think am gettin the hang of this - even got my first check fropm google the other week haha

regards everyone
