SpamZapper.net

I have recieved an email of a potential buyer... The email he sent me was as follows:
"I am interested in purchasing SpamZapper.net for a fair price. If you
are interested in selling of course."

I emailed him back asking what he thought a fail price would be.

So now waiting his response I would like to know what you think I should let it go for. What kind of price should be the lowest I let it go for?

Thanks in advance!

It depends who they are, I myself would let it go @ $50 seeing as many ext. are available.

It looks like he owns a few other developed sites. Possibly has some money too. He sells some anti-virus software that he probably developed on one of his sites. Another site he offers live stats. So, I'm not sure?

I'd sit on it and see how he replies, he might come back with a sweet offer :)

Say if he does come back with a sweet offer... I know most people always say a bit less than they are willing to pay. Should I reply back with an offer just a bit more than he offered?

Always a "plus" when the lead contacts you direct...
that always makes one feel real good!

I like the name myself.. although a .net..
Zapper is clever, and catchy..

Yes.. by all means, await his reply with his idea of a "fair" offer.
Keep us posted.. and goodluck!

He responded with this email:

"Hello again,

Well I am looking to develop some anti-spam software and SpamZapper is
one of the names that came up. However, I am not looking to spend too
much money to get up and running so let me throw out a number and if it
is well under your radar, then that's OK. I was looking to spend around
$50 for the domain. If you are laughing at this point, then I don't
think that I can meet your expectations. If you are thinking about it,
then let's bargain."

He's expecting me to bargain, so what should I counter offer for?

Do you think $100 is too much or too little?

I'm going to wait until I get at least 3 suggestions before I email him back... Anyone else have a suggestion?

Not sure what you paid for the name but $75 to me wouldnt be all that bad based on reg fee purchase. You could go $100, I think he would come back with $75, I would.

Its up to you really, is $75 good for you or do you wanna go for the $100, he might not counter offer and accept, who knows what he is actually willing to pay. It is a .net so that is also a factor.

I'm willing to let it got for $25, I just want to get the most I can out of it. Looks like a counter offer of $75 is my best bet?

We came to an agreement of $80.

$80 is good.

I arrived to this thread a little too late (story of my life). When he e-mailed you with what you thought was a fair offer the first figure that came to mine was $125, knowing that through negotiating you might be happy with a final sale price of $100. I wasn't far off.

Nice job,
ST
