Post Restrictions

Just an idea but I think there should be posting restrictions on the domain appraisals section. For example, you may post in/access this forum after X meaningful posts. There are so many threads there with zero responses because people sign up for an account, post an appraisal (Usually something like "xo-uo-ia-du-f.com Is this good?") and never return.

Restrictions could also benefit the marketplace.
I feel this would also encourage new members to make use of the forums rather than just spamming their domains.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think restricting who can ask for an appraisal would not be very beneficial to anyone. Right now the Appraisal section (Believe it or not) is one of the Most viewed and active forums on NamePros. Making a post requirement before they can ask for an appraisal would just encourage people to post pad one liners more all over the forum like "Thanks, Nice article, I like it, Looks nice, You helped me a lot, Great, Sweet, Hello, etc..

Some people sign-up just to try out the appraisal section. Not all stay, but a % does contribute in other forums after they make their appraisal thread. Removing the ability for them to start off in appraisals might also remove some of our potential contributing member base.

As for the 1 time posters, they might come back in a few months. Even if they don't, Their thread might eventually stimulate a response or even some organic search traffic in a year from now.

Again, I do appreciate your suggestion, However it just seems counter-productive at the moment.
