Possible for former user to regain pendingdelete domain?

Hi. I have just found a very good domain that that i like, and would like to have it, but it is in the pending delete status. The domain was non fuctional since 2006. the recent update was days ago.

I know the former owner of this domain that had failed to pay. I have foud tis contact info. Is it possible i contact him to get it back? or is the best way to backorder it?

please advice.

If the name is in pending delete it means it's going to drop within 5 days. So it's too late for the former owner to get it back. Place a backorder with snapnames, pool, namejet and cross fingers.
