I've been building a site originally titled texasfelt.com. However, while adding boards, I added a "Bad Beats Board"... which got me to wondering if there was a badbeatsboard.com available, and there was. So now I have registered badbeatsboard.com as well as badbeatboard.com. I'm wondering, before I begin promoting the site, should I keep it as TexasFelt or use one of the other two? Changing the name means nothing as far as the content goes, it would be as simple as changing the URL and the site's logo, everything else will remain the same. Any feedback is appreciated.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

None of these domains are good :imho:. TexasFelt.com I would associate more with a store selling material in Texas than a poker forum. Bad Beat(s) board is too negative, you'll get a bunch of whiny rookies that will play only once and then use your forum to complain for the next 5 years.

You can find much better poker domains dropping daily.

Honestly, I dont mind TexasFelt.com THAT much. I agree, better names are out there all around. BadBeatsBoard has a ring, but its just too long and the term "board" is really being phased out.

FYI: WorldofPoker.com was just pushed to auction this morning on Sedo.com.

TexasFelt has the best ring to it,
out of your 4 choices.
I agree with Venture...It sounds like a store selling felt
as opposed to a Poker site.

I am not looking for a sale at all,
but I have a few that are a helluva lot better than that.
You could have them at reg-fee if you'd like.

or
I bet we could hand reg a few right now
that would be better than your 4 choices.

I'm not trying to be mean at all.
I really do not like any of those choices,
but would be happy to help you with some creative regging if you'd like.

Either way, Good Luck to you!

"I like biscuits wasn't really choice" just a funny vote to throw in
:D

Thanks for all of the feedback. don't worry about my feelings, it's just a domain name. I'd rather have honesty and end up with a good name than to have everyone "protect" my feelings and have a horrible name.

As for suggestions, I'm always up for suggestions. I don't have much $$ to be spending - reg fee>, but I'm open to any input.

@JB7, originally I put it together thinking I would try to get local players together to find places to play, which is why I went with (Texas)Felt, for players in Texas. However, I've since changed my mind and would like to open it up to all players who want to discuss their game. So, it will be/is a poker site for all players and all games.

Hey Eric,
I just took a coupla minutes and played around with some reg's for ya.
I think I found a couple of good ones that are available.
Either way,
There are better domains out there! :imho:

I just sent them in a pm!

Good Luck to you!

Thanks for the suggestions.

I guess I should also mention, I'm trying to stay away from hold em' type titles. While Hold Em' is (the) game right now, in case that ever changes, I don't want to be limited.

I currently also own...

tiltedchat.com
and
tiltedblog.com

I also just checked and whatsyourplay.com is available, but I think it may be a bit long.

How about...

whatsyourplay.com

That's a pretty standard statement with poker players and just the name would encourage interaction. Many players will give a scenario and then ask "What's your play?" I could create a "what's your play" area in which OP's can black out the results of a hand so that members can give their play before they see results.
