Please take a few minutes to review the first stage of my website:

http://www.WilmingtonHotels(dot)net

Look forward to hearing some comments as well as effective ideas that could be implemented to encourage returning traffic and good search engine ranking. Has only been LIVE 24 hours but the booking system has been activated and works very well.

Thanks in advance.

You have made good progress and the website design looks quite good so far. However I would suggest integrating a more professional, stylish looking header with a nicer logo. I would also centre the site as it is pushed to the far left of my screen with a big gap on the right (unless you have plans for this once done). Good progress though, hope it's a great success.

Thanks David for your feedback.
Found and fixed the Internet Explorer browser bug. This is the only browser where the site is centered, on the others the site is still aligned on the left to match the way IAN’s pages are displayed while using those browsers, there's not much we can do about that - maybe try to get some featured ads on the right once the site's traffic starts to pick up.
They should be some unique content uploaded tomorrow with some nice, usefull articles.
Any other suggestions for new features/feedback would be most welcome. Trying to work out how I could use this portal to generate a few monthly dollars.

Site looks very clean. Just that there does not seem to be content on the page, much more like a commercial site. Not sure if its your intent.

The links mostly go to www.ian.com, I am not sure if you get paid for forward to them? Do you? or is this a way to offer information to support the site.

It might be best to make a blog page with news article once a week or twice a week if you lack content.

Nice domain,

But have to say the design seems a little dated IMHO!. (real old)

A new design would do wonders.

Really would make the site more appealing.
Good luck.

The "Car rental" and "Flights" menu tabs don't become blue after clicking on.

I don't like the big image on the left. If your goal is to shovel people through to book hotels, put the form right in their face.

Thanks for the constructive comments. Site is about 40% complete and I am looking to add more featres and make the site look more attractive - ready for a small adwords campaign.

If anyone knows anyone who could send us a few unique-content paragraphs about Wilmington NC, I can paypal funds (PM for details).
What other features on the site do you like? What can be added to increase revenue potential and customer service satisfaction?
This is my first travel website and appreciate all the friendly advice I could get.

I like this simple clean design of the site. If it were mine, I would put the Hotel search form in the place where the big 'HOTEL' image is, and afterwards, the 'HOTEL' image - under the search form.

You should still be able to center the site. Something like this should work:

#wrapper {
width: ___px;
margin: 0 auto;
}

<html>
<head>
<title></title>
<head>
<body>
<div id="wrapper">

...

</div>
</body>
</html>

Cheers Ben. I'll give it a go.

Any tips to attract traffic/advertisers would be most welcome. What new sections/features could I add that could not only be useful for those wanting to travel to Wilmington but also profitable?

There are over 130,000 exact seaches for "Wilmington Hotels" each and every month, so there must be some potential here.

Site is has now been LIVE a few days. Useful unique content has been. Received about 80 visitors yesterday (half is Direct Traffic), average time on site is 9mins. Will soon contact a few hotels to see if they'd like to be featured under our front page "featured hotels" section.
