Hi. I recently finished my first ever website and I used wordpress.

The link is Funny Cats « Cute, Funny and Hilarious Cat Videos

I created a website containing links to funny cat videos and I will also write short articles in an "information" section. I plan to monetize the videos section with CPC and the information section where i write the articles with affiliate links.

1) I understand I should wait for a few months before I apply for google adsense. How long should i typically wait?

2) Can I immediately dive into affiliate marketing. This website is brand new and I am in the process of getting it indexed.

Thanks

Nice clean easy to read site, might want to make people aware the picture is a video though.

I suggest adding the all in one seo plugin.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply quickoldcar.

My Goal is to hit $5.00 per day with this website after adding about 10 articles and links to about 50 videos, then marketing the heck out of it.

Do you think this is possible?

I'm with alexe on that one, ads are not what they used to be.

It all depends on the amount of traffic your marketing effort generates. For making $5 a day, you'll need at least a couple of thousand page views a day. It'll be very difficult to achieve that especially considering the little amount of unique content you're planning to add onto your site.

Personally I think you have too many menu choices on menu bar which IMO makes it look a tad untidy. I think I would be adding all these to the left sidebar in categories using the the same format as the menus already there. The Anti Ageing to workout menu looks quite smart to me and the text is nice and sharp.
Your About, privacy, disclaimer and register menus I would also put on the sidebar but under a different category name, also this would be at the bottom end of the sidebar. If you had to leave anything on the menu bar then keep it to a minimum, Home and About for example.
The text you have on the right sidebar rearding your name and about you etc I'd consider putting that into the About text leaving you some space for other menus. You could move the facebook link over there giving you more space on the left.

Sorry Im confused. Are you reviewing my website or someone elses? I dont have any "Anti Ageing to workout menu" and I have no text in the sidebar regarding my name.

Simply but nice design. I actually like the maroon background. The blue text on the top right looks like it could be links, however.

Hello,

i have a gaming blog, 200 unique visits a day and i struggle to make 0.01$ a day,....

Never think that this is easy to earn money with AdSense. My websites have over 1,500 Page Impression daily but the Click Through Rate (CTR) is almost close to zero for the past 10 months.

I have no any idea why people claim to have at least 4% CTR.

Best regards

Alex

You will make money from having a profitable niche and driving targeted traffic to your site that finds your ads relevant.

Alexe: You run a gaming blog. Your user base consists mostly of teenage boys. If the blog is about video games, then the only reason they would click on ads is A) To find information about video games they didn't find on your site, or B) To buy enticing video games. In any case, teenage guys don't have a lot of cash. You might want to target your sales technique to affiliate sales of new/good selling video games if you aren't seeing results through ads.

Trishool: Your blog is about humor based around cats. Think about what kinds of ads or affiliate links you would click if you were on a blog looking to be entertained. If you can build up good traffic I suggest selling links on your blogroll to other humorous blogs.

Thanks very much. I am concurrently developing 3 other sites, all in different niches. The focus for funnycats is on marketing right now. Awesome Advice btw.. Really appreciate it
