Please comment: CallOfDutyForum.com, FarCryForum.com and 2 Half Life Domains

Would anyone like to hop on board this list of domains?

I just registered them, they were free, my host, gave me a $40 gift certificate and I tried to get some domains that have Popular Gaming keywords.

FarCryForum.com (New Game coming out soon) - 8,220,000 from Google

HalfLifeForum.net (Half Life is one of the most popular games around!)
HalfLifeForums.net

I am starting a game website up at GameYell.com and thought these would help gain some members. Any thoughts on value, or thoughts on the names themselves, as far as if they will or should generate type ins?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
I like the farcry forum thats a good name :)

Im not really sure on the value of either but you may get a few interesting bids if you aim the sale in a gaming community.

Thanks for your input BoxFresh!

I now have another domain to add into this for Discussion:

CallOfDutyForum.com (New game coming out soon!) - 11,900,000 from Google

The first (14) to give me an Honest Value, or to discuss any of my new domains will be Paid 5NP$ - BoxFresh, NP$ is on your way, these domains are Top Notch in the Gaming world, In my opinion.

Farcry isnt a new game, its out since end of 2004 if i remember.

Farcryforum.com is the best name possible for this subject forum. Undevelopped worth like high $XX - low $XXX. A lot more if developed with lot of members.

Halflife forum and forums are good too, Half Life is a lot more popular than far cry, and 2 half lives are out since years, so more users. Even its a .net value is maybe same as farcry (that is a .com)

I think all them are mid high $XX each for resale but I find them wonderful to develop forums related to those games.

In my opinion, Far Cry and Call of Duty are top hits but not comparable to Half Life (in terms of popularity), so if you just set up a forum structure there and get some members to start the discussion, posting tricks and things like that, they all could become huge.

What I meant by new game that is coming out, I meant, there is a new game coming out.... :hehe:

Thanks for your opinions and views though, I can see where you would get confused (I don't always make myself 100% clear when i am so tired, that I actually see 6 foot penguins, dancing around, yelling at me to look, just so they can strip!, and that is not a pretty site! You know what I mean, if ever you've seen 6 foot penguins in the Nude! "LAUGHS!" I am kidding, about that part, but, I was tired..lol...

I'm sending you both 5NP$. As I do appreciate your time!

farcryforum is the best possible name for a far cry forum, so if you can find the right person... definitely at least low XXX

The PC FarCry community never took off near as much as Half-Life, it was a popular game though and FarCry: Instincts was just realeased for the XBox two days ago... so that could give farcryforums.com some additional natural hits.

FarCryForum.com: Mid-High $XX
CallOfDutyForum.com: Mid-High $XX

I love HalfLifeForum.net, you definately should set up a board with different sections for clans, level editing, and modifications (CounterStrike, Day of Defeat, etc.), I'd appraise it at Low-Mid $xxx.

farcryforum.com $15-$75

I think the rest are reg fee.

I'll send your NP$, how-ever, I really don't see how high profile domains could be reg fee; especially high profiles, High keyword quality gaming domains.
Could you share with me how you came to this conclusion?

I will be opening up GameYell.com in a few days, and could use some Mods- to help run the place and offer their opinions on categories/forums to add. Drop by, if you are interested- say on Tuesday.

Video game domains happen to be my specialty. I think the fact these facts make your other domains reg fee.

1. actual game name is half-life
2. latest version is half-life 2
3. .net extension rather undesirable
4. OVT shows only 55 results for "halflife forums" while there are 241 for "halflife 2 forums" which proves my #2 point
5. the .com extension (halflifeforums.com) is already a forums and it's DEAD so how can you make the .net come to life?
6. these appear to be fresh registrations...one would think that after all this time if they really held value above regfee that someone would have regged them

Sorry but that's my assessment. Good luck on them...go on and develop them. As names alone I think are worthless but if you can produce a decent site and get it some traffic of course it could be better. However names alone..worthless.

All, I can say is that, I enjoy a challenge! Thanks for your opinion again Brain!

Gee, Brain, what are we going to do today? What we do every day Pinky!
Umm, pretend the moon is actually a giant ball of cheese and eat it?

No Pinky... we're going to take over the world!

Also, the reason why the other forums (when these names were taken) did poorly, is probably because the owners lacked the knowledge to pull it off to begin with.

You can have a great domain, and lead it to the search engines- however, if you don't properly take care of it, feed it.... the domain will simply fade away- even a great name.

You also have to remember that I am backing these up with future domains as well- HL3Forum.com, FarcRy64.com and others.

Plus HalfLifeForums.com has only been open for a month... that's really not enough time to get a forum rolling... I think HalfLifeForum.net has alot of potential if done right.

You are asking for appraisal on the name. Of course if you develop it properly and spend time, money, and energy on it then it would have more value. You have .net's on names that are available as .org, .us, and .info....so your name has LOW LOW value alone since it's not the premium .com and for all the other reasons I stated. I will check on your site periodically and see what you do with it. From my experience in the domain and video game business..you won't do much. I see fly-by-night game sites all the time that don't ever go anywhere. Now keep in mind I have sold a handful of game related sites for $xx,xxx and many for $x,xxx so I believe I know what I am talking about.
