Hey guys,

I am way new to the domain world but have been glued to articles, sites and have been learning a lot. So i recently acquired directkaraoke.com and spasmiamibeach.com

The Sedo.com recommendation for DK was $100 and for SpasMB was between $2,000 - $3,000

What do you guys think? Also what are the best sites to sell them at? I have them on sedo and afternic

Thank you

Any Ideas?

Trying to get your experienced thoughts - I am so green in the domain world.

Had a interested buyer and he said without the appraisal of some 50 euros per domain site or a trusted appraisal he would not be able to proceed with the purchase-

just to let you know, make sure the BUYER pays for his own appraisal. Don't pay for any appraisal yourself. Most likely that guy is not interested in your name, and he only wants you to pay for an appraisal service which he probably owns.

As the member above mentioned, this is an 'appraisal scam' and the buyer is a fake.

I do not see any value in your domains, IMO get a refund if possible :)

Welcome to Namepros, good luck :)

Thanks guys for the response- I did think it was odd for him to ask me for an appraisal and to be so specific with a foreign one.

Not sure how I would return it, i purchased the domains - The Miami Beach one i plan on selling to a business in Miami- We shall see how that goes : )

Thanks again

spasmiamibeach.com

wholesale: $x
retail: $xxx

At first glance I see the word 'spasm'. Not good. Then the brain kicks into gear and I see the intended phrase 'spas miami beach'. That's a good topic for a domain name but the problem here is word order. In English the noun modifier usually precedes the modified noun, so in this case the proper word order is 'miami beach spas'. Unfortunately that dot com was grabbed in 2003. There are lots of spas in Miami Beach and many of them advertise online, but I think this name will be a tough sell. If you love the topic and you're a gambler you may have better luck hand regging and selling miamibeachspa.net.

Thank you for your input. You definitely sound experienced.
Being someone who knows more aboit domains... How do you recommend to flip domains? Considering i intend on just selling domains with no content.

I recently purchased the domain www.reassessed.net

From what i understand one word domains and key word domains can sell well. Also reassess could be used for various financial topics, estimating and such.

Let me know what think of this one?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Neither domain has large searches in google (check keyword tool) and so I cant see much value

directkaraoke.com - There are over 4,000 websites with the word karaoke found in zfbot, I would start by contacting as many of those to see if they would be interested
spasmiamibeach.com - The same with this one, check on zfbot, add the terms to the top, ie. spas (start) miami (ends with) uncheck -'s and #'s and leave IDN's checked, hit search and then start by contacting each site owner

Personally though both are $xx, maybe $xxx if lucky....

There are many ways to play the domain game. I don't flip names but other members do so they may be able to offer tips. My strategy is positive cash flow via parking. Unsolicited sales are gravy. I sometimes try to sell my 'mistakes' on forums for $xx before dropping but more often than not one man's trash is another man's trash, i.e., no sale.

I screen domains like baseball at-bats, except in this business 2 strikes and you're out. Reassessed.net … Not dot com? Strike one. Past tense verb? Strike two, you're out. Next batter up. Karaokedirect.com … Vague? Strike one. Hard to spell? Strike two … This system washes out just about every name. If you limit yourself to a narrow topic, like Miami Beach Spas, you may find nothing. A wide field of view opens up more opportunity. Available dot coms … [chronograph wristwatch]? Not bad but I'll pass. [fig sauce]? Short and sweet but not today. [sequin material]? Look, it sparkles, no thanks. [trash incinerator]? Hot but pass. Screen until you find a gold nugget, buy if cheap or hand reg if available. If you love prospecting and you're good at it then you have a good shot at getting traction in this business.
