Hello! I'm not a domain sales professional, but I did work at ISPs back in the '90s so may have been the CSR who registered yours if you've been in the business for a long time.
I did however register some domains for myself -- I bought velvet.net in 1996 and for about 10 years used it as a personal site, non-profit server, and it did have its brief time being well-known in certain circles as did some of the accounts on it. I've not been doing much with it for the past few years.
Sentimentally it means a lot to me, but I have a kid now and money might be worth more... from my research it seems like it could fetch a lot given its shortness and single word. True?
I'd love some appraisals and advice on what to do going forward. Thanks so much!
