Atma.TV is fine...but ceetee.tv does mean a whistle.....so what ?...there are loads of Hindi--English domains.....unless you plan to develop it is reg. fee.....and there are still 100s of english domains available at reg. fee....Good Luck !!!

atma.tv is going to be a 24 hour devotional channel.
So you got that spot on. :)

Glad you like ceetee.tv - supposed to be a youth tv channel so... ;)

Thanks for your views Vimal,

All domains I purchase have a pre defined function before I purchase them...
I feel that is the least bit of common sense that is required.

This is supposed to be a TV channel for teens.
If you're in India, look out for it in Oct 07 (or thereabouts).

Hence whistle.tv has a lot of meanings,
and using the Hindi version ceetee.tv
just localizes it for our target audience :)

Though I'm perfectly happy with reg fee valuation.

Rgds

Hi,
I regged whistle.tv and I see a multitude of uses for it! For example in most sports there is the use of a whistle e.g.: Soccer, Football, Hockey and Basketball just to name a few. My thoughts when regging this was that it could represent a channel related to such sports. I would not therefore dismiss the Hindi version of the name as I am sure there are millions of sports fans who speak this language. JMHO..

Cheers,

Len. :)

Thanks for the views on ceetee.tv Len.

However, in India, 95% of the sports fans are only interested in cricket. And no whistles there - aside from the audience... 5% in what you call soccer and we call football, hockey and all the other sports - and that too only once in four years or so... ;)

When I hear ceetee, the first thing that comes to mind is 'ceetee maro' or what is known as a 'wolf whistle' in English. So it works for us with the teen audience. Glad you liked it enough to reg the english version, albeit for a different reason - different strokes for different folks.

Good luck with it!!

First I believe dotTV lends itself well to domains like ATMA.TV where the meaning of the word used is a bit vague to most and very specific to others, maybe even edgy. Because the medium that should be used with this extensions should invariably be video I think the viewers interpretation is part of the value of such words. I like this reg, you did well but I will have a hard time putting a value to it.

Secondly, part of the value of both domains is the fact you already have an intended or pre-defined function for each before you even bought them. Absolutely fantastic!

No matter how attractive a dotTV domain name is, unless it is one of the two dozen major keywords in any extension, i.e. sex, casino, pets, etc. or 2, 3 and 4 letter acronym type domains, you should have an end use in mind for it that can be easily explained to an end user.

"atma.tv is going to be a 24 hour devotional channel." Perfect.

I have recently seen a lot of dotTV domains that the new owners would have a hard time explaining what kind of content you would find there. All of you have seen folks come here for appraisals on them and many times I am shaking my head. I am also guilty of this with my registration of Intentions.TV even though I have a clear niche audience in mind, but at least I have that and can produce a video based destination for those people.

I think your recent regs are a good mini lesson in dotTV!

Cheers and Good Luck!

Thank you very much.

Since this is to be a non-profit, the valuation would only assist in the network who is going to broadcast this. Though spirituality is both, without price and priceless.

Again, tyvm.

I think this is true for all TLDs, TV just creates a smaller niche with the focus on AV.

I only have these two .TV, but what you're saying here has a lot of common sense in it.
Totally correct from my perspective.
