Negative $96.00

I operate with the assumption that most people participating in this forum would like to make money. In this day and age, that is not going to happen for you unless you change course drastically (with the emphasis on drastically).

Roughly three quarters of the users on this forum have no clue on how to consistently profit from domains. It certainly won't happen by hand registering .BIZ domains or .IN domains and trying to flip them. I don't have time to explain in detail how to do this but I will offer a rough starting point.

1. Avoid hand registering domains unless they are fresh drops. And even then use extreme caution.

2. Never register or even visit domains ending in .BIZ, .ME, .PRO, .CO, .TEL, Etc, Etc. The money is not in paper and tin, the money is in gold and silver which is .COM and .ORG. And you can't hand register gold and silver, you have to buy it in the marketplace (or hire drop catchers).

3. Proactively sell your domains. Don't wait for end users to come calling. If you want to make money you must go out and get it. It won't just drop in your lap.

Well, it's Saturday and I hope this has helped. I must go now and enjoy my day. Good luck!

Thank you for your insights MicroGuy :)

I am very new to domain reselling and I'm just testing waters here. So every advice from experienced people like yourself is helpful.

I completely agree when you recommend proactively selling domain names and I have started doing the same.

I have a list of potential companies who could be interested in some domain names and I have started getting in touch with them.

I hadn't thought of the distinction between freshly dropped and unregistered domain names and I see your point there.

I guess I'm gonna have to do a lot more reading and learning before I can seriously consider domain flipping. Any pointers to recommended readings would be more than welcome :)

Thank you again for the detailed reply MicroGuy. Enjoy your Saturday

dont buy names on a friday, as you will email people and if your lucky enough to get a response it will be on a monday and 3 days of your grace delete period are gone. Real hard to "flip" a fresh reg biz in my opinion $0-regfee

\/ you will find that people will just say to you "Its a dot what? Its not ProteinShake.Com is it"

Thanks for the tip johname! To be honest, I wasn't even aware of the 'grace delete period' :|.

I'll keep this in mind for domain names which I'm not confident of getting ranked on Page 1 of search engines.

I can understand that flipping a fresh reg domain might be difficult if the potential buyers are domain investors. But in your experience, is this also true if potential buyers are interested end users/business owners?
