Please appriase:

PlatinumRingsForWomen.com

This is a very competitive space, wedding rings, with a single platinum ring selling for upwards of hundreds of dollars.

There are 480 exact match monthly searches in the USA according to the Google keyword tool.

Many thanks

Its too long. Do you know any popular website with more than 12 chars?

Its always better to reg shorter domains.

Hi Paul
I only see a xx value for this one, if that. Low searches, and it's a very competitive area for you to try build a minisite around (if that was your plan).

I checked into this thread because I have a similar name RingsForGirls (dawt) com, which gets much higher monthly searches. Still, without doing a considerably more involved amount of development than I would for a minisite, it would be very difficult for me to get a site to first page/spot on search engines and actually earn $ from it.

Your name has the exact same problem: a ton of competition for that first spot, competing against the huge malls like Amazon and Bizrate etc, as well as competing against the huge developed jewelry sites. Add to that Google's new search algorithms that make it very difficult for anything that smells like a minisite to optimize well, and add to that the receding income from adsense, and that adds up to minisites being gasping for breath these days, and IMO your name wouldn't be of value for a minisite... which is about the only use a pointedly niche name like that can have.

So I appraise BOTH our names at xx, and very difficult to develop a competing site, and very difficult to sell to an end user.

:)

Hi Bannen

Many thanks for this amazing reply. This is why I registered with this forum - to learn from people like yourselves who are so willing to share knowledge.

What puzzles me is that Estibot shows a value of $180 (which is close to yours too) whilst Sedo's pricing tool, where I have listed it, shows a value of $4,999!!! I know the Sedo valuation is way out but how can they be so different?

I actually bought this domain hoping to sell it on to an end user who deals in rings etc. Would this have an impact on the valuation?

Thanks

Estibot is showing value of $1900 for mine :) - which has come down, I think Es'bot valuated it at 5 or 6K when I got it.

whilst Sedo's pricing tool, where I have listed it, shows a value of $4,999!!! I know the Sedo valuation is way out but how can they be so different?
Estibot and Sedo's valuation tools are written by completely different people, so their pricings are based on different coding, input, ratios, etc etc etc.
Also, these valuations mean little in the real world, they're best used as tools for all the stats they offer at once.

I actually bought this domain hoping to sell it on to an end user who deals in rings etc.
IMO it's far too niche, long-tail terms for products are rarely, rarely attractive to end users. End users prefer more branded names unless you have a KILLER generic product term like rings or womensrings. Since most end users manufacture/sell dozens or hundreds of categories of rings, doesn't make sense for them to be paying cash for all these long tail terms. Zero chance of end user sale, IMO.

But prove me wrong :)

I think its far too limiting of a domain name. Do you know of any store that sells just platinum rings, and for women at that.

I had people here appraise exclusivediamonds dot com which would cover all kinds of diamond jewelry and no one seemed to think it had any value.
