2/ RJ knows I own it.
3/ Has been registered for nearly 5 years.

It is the the kind of name that will get reasonable traffic and but no interest from those visitors. Typos/confusion traffic won't work when it is domainers making the error.

The other thing is who is ever going to develop on a name like this? It has a strong smell of desperation about it.

Even if RJ knows it and doesn't care, the name is worthless. Why do you expect any sensible person to waste his money on a domain name which is already an established brand on a different extension?

As to branding a site using it.

or http://Domain.com vs http://Domain.com.au

He asked if it infringes upon a trademark, not whether you can own it. Realistically RJ would probably need a TM in Australia to have a strong case, but the key point in my view that nobody is going to put anything significant into a name like this.

What about it? it look like a redirect to a domain reseller program.

or http://Domain.com vs http://Domain.com.au

A generic is a completely different kettle of fish to trying to clone a brand name.

It's an ill conceived reg, trying to profit of someone else's mark, whichever way you look at it.

It's not even worth reg fee, let alone 5 yrs of renewals.

Set it up as a baby names site, might make your reg fee back, though probably not.
