I thought that only US citizens and people with some "ties" with US were allowed to reg a .US domain ... and the registrant of dress-up.us is not ... am I wrong? :)

Who can register a .US domain name?
Any U.S. citizen or resident, as well as any business or organization, including federal, state, and local government with a bona fide presence in the United States can register a .US domain name.
One of the following eligibility requirements must be met:
- A natural person (i) who is a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America or any of its possessions or territories or (ii) whose primary place of domicile is in the United States of America or any of its possessions, or
- Any entity or organization that is incorporated within one of the fifty (50) U.S. states, the District of Columbia, or any of the United States possessions or territories or (ii) organized or otherwise constituted under the laws of a state of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, or any of its possessions or territories, or
- An entity or organization (including federal, state, or local government of the United States, or a political subdivision thereof) that has a bona fide presence in the United States. See Section B.3.1 of the Neustar proposal to the Department of Commerce for details concerning what constitutes a “bona fide presence.“

Yep, that is true.
But dig more, especially at point B.
What's your point though?I just want an appraisal from the veterans.

So you have a legitimate business that's not registering domain names?

Either way.

Reg Fee from me.

It's hyphen it's .us and the "dress up games" market is chocked with people getting all the traffic already.

If you can get significant chunk of the traffic? Then things change.

well, if you are respecting the requirements, then it's ok (it didn't look so obvious, since the registrant is reported like a private person from Romania).
About its value, as far as I know, the situation for .us domains is not exactly thriving, just think that a few days ago Pepsi dropped its .us domain (later it was regged by a guy from Indonesia).
As a guy from this forum already said, "if they don't even feel the need for a defensive reg it speaks volume about the health of .us", if u think that Pepsi is a TM.
So I could guess maybe xx$:imho:-, but some big experts here maybe could give u more flavor about this.
Regards. :)

Thank you for your views.

I won't try to give arguments for this anymore as all I want wanted was an appraisal.

Cheers.

It's not a question of arguing here ... it's just to remind you that your domain will be deleted by the tld authorities if you are not entitled to reg it:)
